Mon Petit Montréal (monpetitmontreal.com) is operated by Mon Petit Montréal from Montréal, Québec. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights, under Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and PIPEDA.
Person in charge of personal information
The team in charge of personal information is reachable at .
What we collect
- When you write to us: your name, email address and message, only to reply to you.
- If you sign up for the newsletter: your first name, email address, site language, and the date and wording of the consent you ticked, only to send you the newsletter. We first send a confirmation email (from equipe@monpetitmontreal.com): nothing else is sent until you click its link. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to us to be removed from the list.
- Your language choice: saved in your browser (local storage), never sent to us.
- Technical data: as with any website, your IP address and browser details reach our providers when pages, fonts and maps load (see below).
- Audience measurement, only if you agree: with Google Analytics, the pages viewed, visit length, device type and approximate city, to understand how the site is used. Nothing is collected until you tick the box in the cookie banner, and you can withdraw your consent at any time in the cookie policy.
We use no advertising or profiling tools, and we never sell information.
Information inside event listings
Event listings come from public listings (Facebook, Eventbrite, DICE, Resident Advisor, evenko, Instagram and venue websites) and may include the name of an organizer or venue. If this concerns you and you’d like something corrected or removed, write to us and we’ll handle it promptly.
Providers and transfers outside Québec
To run the site we rely on providers that may process data outside Québec, including in the United States:
- Cloudflare: website hosting and delivery;
- Google: fonts (Google Fonts), storing newsletter sign-ups and sending its emails (Google Sheets and Gmail) and, only with your consent, audience measurement (Google Analytics);
- OpenStreetMap: map tiles;
- cdnjs: site libraries (the map);
- Apify: collecting public event listings.
They only receive what they need to provide their service.
Retention
Messages are kept as long as needed to reply, then for at most 12 months. Newsletter sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, and withdraw your consent. Write to the team above; we reply within 30 days. You can also file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Changes
Any update to this policy will be posted here with its date.
